Fingerprint Jewelry Questions
Q: How do I get a fingerprint of the person if they passed away?
A: Funeral homes normally have records of the fingerprints on file so you can call the funeral home and ask them for it. Normally they will even send it to us themselves. Most are normally very understanding and aware of the product and would love nothing more to help. Let us know if you need help retrieving them, sometimes we can call over and get it done.
Q: How can I get you the fingerprint once have it?
A: Once you have the fingerprint you have 4 different ways to send it.
Upload - You can have it scanned in the computer or you can scan it in yourself.
Then, you can upload it with the order. We have an upload option when placing the order.
Email - you can email the photo over as well. A lot of the times people select this option
when they either do not have the print handy, or they have someone else do it for them.
After you place the order you email the thumbprint with the order number we give you to orders@picturesongold.com.
The website will tell you all of this as you are placing the order.
Fax - Since most fingerprints are black and white you can even fax them in to us,
although email and upload you get the best resolution from. You would place your order and select the
fax option then fax your print along with the order number to 347-521-1194. The website tells you all
of this as you are placing your order.
Mail - this is the slowest method, but some people just do not have the capabilities of scanning, emailing, or faxing.
We do send the prints back along with the order. Just select this option then mail in your photos to our address along with the order number.
The website reminds you of all of this as you are ordering.
Q: Are the fingerprints deep when you carve them on to the charms or pendants? Can you actually feel them?
A: Yes, the process we use is called "Laser Carving" and it´s nice and deep and you can actually feel the grooves of the fingerprints on the medal. They will never ever wear off.
Q: How do I know if the quality of my print is good enough?
A: Majority of the time we spend making your jewelry is modifying the fingerprint to ensure it looks perfect on the jewelry. In the rare circumstance that we feel the results won´t give the quality we expect we´ll alert you and request another set of fingerprints.
Q: Are these real gold & Silver?
A: Yes, PicturesOnGold.com only sells solid sterling silver and 10k or 14 gold. Everything is clearly marked 10k,14k or sterling silver.
Q: Can we get a message engraved on the back side?
A: Yes, as you´re ordering the website will ask you if you´d like a message engraved on the back side. We give a nice amount of characters as well due to the high definition laser engraving we use. There is an additional cost of $20.
Q: How can I get my babies fingerprint to you? Do you supply a kit?
A: The best way to get any fingerprint whether it be baby, child or adult is a simple ink pad. You can go to any local drug store or office store and get an ink pad and simply press the finger in the ink pad and mark it on any piece of white paper. It´s really easy. We suggest giving us a number of different ones as well and allow us to choose the best and clearest print.
Q: My funeral home offers this service but your items are much more reasonably priced, why is that?
A: We manufacture all of our jewelry right in our factory in Staten Island, NY. Funeral homes are buying from other vendors, like us, and then reselling to the public to make a profit. Since you are buying direct, you save.
Q: I want to buy prints for the entire family, can I get a discount?
A: Yes, just give us a call at 877-703-1143 and let us know how many you´re interested in and we´ll gladly work with you on a better price if you´re ordering quantities.
Q: What is the time frame from placing an order to receiving the item at my front door if engraving a picture and a message is requested?
A: Normally we ship within 1 day. If you need it sooner let us know. If you provide us with your zip code we can let you know the estimated time of arrival for UPS ground shipping.
Q: I have large digital images and your cart would not let me to upload it, what is the easiest way to resize photos to smaller size?
Q: If I send you 2 pictures to merge will you send me an e-mail with the 2 pictures merged before printing it on a charm, so that I can proof it first?
A: Sure, we can send you a proof first. Just let us know in "special instructions" that you´d like a proof and we´ll send it over via e-mail.
